Our "60s-70s" section presents a chronological exploration of rock through its most celebrated figures. Evolving hand-in-hand from the same blues and early rock roots, British and American rockers would quickly find their own paths in hard rock, with groups like Led Zeppelin or Cream; experimental rock, with Jimi Hendrix and the early Pink Floyd; and more melodic sounds that range from The Animals to Queen and Rod Stewart.
This explosion of creativity unfolds before our eyes in images of The Animals, The Who and Jimi Hendrix, guitars signed by Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and Queen, articles of clothing from Brian May and Gene Simmons, original records, and more – a brilliant sampling of the objects that once surrounded the pioneers and masters of rock's wildest side.
