In the Origins Room, we travel back in time to the very beginnings of rock'n'roll fever. Black rhythm & blues and traditional white country music would merge together in 1950's America, never again to part. From this happy union rock'n'roll was born, with figures like Bill Haley, Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis, even its own "kings", like Elvis Presley.
The Rock Museum pays tribute to the pioneers of this musical revolution with its collection of photographs, pre-vinyl records, guitars and many other mementos touched in their day by those same "rebels with a cause" who changed popular music forever. They were pioneers and they knew it. Sneered at by the wider public, they would only later discover they were geniuses as well
